Wythenshawe Veterans Over-35s are based in south Manchester and play in the Cheshire-based Veterans Division Top Tier.

Together, the former top-flight footballers have claimed 15 major honors and moved for total transfer sums of approximately £123 million.

Well-Known Figures and Global Stars

Stephen Ireland began playing for the side in pre-season this summer through good friend and current team player Blake Norton, and the former Irish player then invited additional ex-pros, who all compete in a midweek small-sided match, to participate.

Ex- Senegal striker Niasse, who netted 12 scores in sixty-five top-flight games for Everton and even now attends their home games, also made his debut versus Collegiate OB - who are based in the city and use an Everton warm-up gear as their strip.

"It's a bit unusual but then, I love sprinting and just go inside - I'm not defending that much," he added.

"I warn my defender 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to keep attacking.

"That running is what I'm seeking. It's good fun."

In addition to the forward's six goals on his first game, Ireland has scored eight in 3 games for the side, while Boyd hit five on his debut appearance and Lescott, a centre-half by trade, notched a hat-trick in one game up front.
